Sonoma TrainTown . . .
Train Tours Your Kids Will Love!

The Sonoma TrainTown experience is one you'll never forget!  From the moment you enter TrainTown you will see the forty-seven foot clock tower and station modeled after Oakland's 16th Street Depot.   Experience a Virtual Tour by clicking on any picture below!

~ Come Take a Virtual Tour With Us! ~

Board the steam train at the station and take a 20 minute tour over 10 heavily wooded acres.  You will be riding on 15 inch gauge tracks in open cars, pulled by a 1927 Hudson 5212 or a Diesel Locomotive, with a nice miniature Caboose bringing up the rear.

Over bridges and trestles, through tunnels and past waterfalls you’ll travel to the miniature town of Lakeville ~ with buildings scaled at one-half size ~ complete with a chapel, school, jail, Firehouse, saloon, Mayor's house, Railroad Depot, a petting zoo and a new Fort play structure ~ all recently rebuilt for your enjoyment!

You’ll travel over five trestles and bridges and through four tunnels (540 feet in aggregate) on this fun trip.  There are lots of trees, and four waterfalls with various waterways.  Your train tour lasts approximately 20 minutes, but it will be a memory that will last in perpetuity!

Back at the Station, check out our family of vintage amusement rides.  TrainTown has a carousel, Ferris Wheel, a giant swing, a roller coaster and locomotion. There’s also an airplane ride just for the little ones, and an air hockey table for those who enjoy a challenge.

At your leisure, explore three full sized Cabooses dating back to the 1930’s and 40’s.  These rail cars have wood stoves and observation areas. One of them has been newly appointed with video games.  For the littlest visitors to TrainTown there are also coin operated rides  including a galloping horse, a stagecoach and a locomotive.

A refreshment stand located in front of the Cabooses offers "Track Snacks" and lots of great souvenirs!

If you're not up for the trip, you can watch the chugging from our 47 foot clock tower and observation platform, or spend the day on various train themed attractions such as a fully restored vintage carousel that plays old time railroad songs (including Johnny Cash's "Orange Blossom Special"), and other great rides!
